The manufacture was on the verge of closing…..but they still believed in future for a Made in France teddy bear.…and they where right ! Nowadays, the MAILOU TRADITION manufacture is still located in the Bretagne region, employs more than 20 people and belongs to Doudou & Compagnie, the french leader in this field ! The fish cannery La Belle-iloise, located in the Brittany region, has been existing since 1932. The company is still managed by the same family (Hilliet family). They succeeded in remaining independent from the large-scale distribution networks by opening their own boutiques since 1967.
