    Iconic perfumer of the XIX century, Jean-Vincent Bully opened a perfumes and cosmetics boutique in Paris in 1803.  He invented the famous “Bully aromatic vinegar” (fashionable anti-mephitic vinegar of those times…). But he went through bankruptcy when the 1830 Revolution destroyed his shop. He spent the rest of his life paying off creditors and in deprivation. His life inspired the French author Balzac for the novel untitled César Birotteau ! In 2014, the Victoire de Taillac and Ramdane Touhami couple brought up to date the brand, renamed “Officine Universelle Buly 1803” (Buly with one l now).     The NOYAU DE POISSY Distillery, established in 1698, is the last historical distillery in the Paris region.   The Seine Valley has long been renowned for its sunny slopes planted with numerous apricot, sloe and cherry orchards. The kernels of these fruits all have highly aromatic qualities. The idea of macerating them in locally-produced fruit and wine brandies must have evolved fairly early on. These first liqueurs, known as ratafia, were extremely popular for a long time. The first two liqueurs : “Gobelet d’Argent” and “Sceau de Saint-Louis”, are made using apricot kernels that are macerated or distilled in a superior quality spirit.     “Les boutiques chéries” are exquisite miniature shop fronts ! Mrs Lily Lebel is an independent illustrator and graphic designer.   Since 2016, she had the great idea to handcraft these interior decorations, displaying the antique Parisian boutiques. Baker, cheese, macaron or flower-shops, fashion boutique,  restaurant…Diverse shop fronts are available. Theses miniatures (20 x 15 x 4.5cm) are numbered and signed by the artist.     The Eiffel Tower is bored….so she decided to fly away and visit Paris ! Flying over the Seine river, you will follow her during her poetic walk, her monuments’ and Parisian ambiances’ discovery.     Papabubble was initially created in Spain in 2004. In the candy stores, you can watch the artisanal process of making hard candies, lollipops, etc. It is a nice show for young and old children !   In the Parisian store, they even sell french colors candies… Last but nor least, these sweets are gelatin, gluten and lactose free.     Who would have guess that a brand founded in 1720 would still be there nowadays in Paris ? Fargeon The Elder was the perfumer and distiller of the Royal Court in Versailles during the Louis XV’ reign.   He founded La Maison Oriza: the name was refering to the “Oriza Stavisa” rice species which was included in his beauty creams & powders…. Only God knows how La Maison Oriza survived through the historical turmoils… but the Fargeon House was famous for being the French Royal court perfumer (Queen Marie Antoinette, Emperor Napoleon Ier, Empress Joséphine, Emperor Napoleon III..). And later the provider of largest foreign courts (Russia, Italy, Ingland)…no less!…
