Tea by DAMMANN FRERES
The French Tea History dates back to the Versailles’ court times. The royal court was found of novelties and was excited to discover the East Indies secrets.
In 1692, the French King Louis XIV gave an exclusive licence * to Mr Damame for the tea trading. (* the famous King’s edit for “caffé, thé, sorbec, chocolat”= for coffee, tea, ice-cream and chocolate !).
Since then, the company Dammann Frères have been investing in tea and/or spices factories abroad, in boutiques or retailers networks. But also have been creating its own blends and accessories:
- * years 50′: creation of the first french flavored blend (“Douchka” black tea blend), competing with the English Earl Grey.
- * 1980 : creation of the crystal@sachet, a nylon bag which is more benefit for the tea brew than paper or muslin bags.
You will have the choice between original or flavored teas, herbal teas or blends for iced teas….in bags, boxes or sets. They even sell delicious tea jellies for a gourmet moment.
Some blends have been created in order to celebrate the Parisian ambience : Flânerie à Paris , Week-end à Paris, Noël à Paris or Nuit à Versailles…Some nice souvenirs ideas, isn’t it ?
You can buy the Dammann Frères teas on the e-shop, in the 7 Parisians boutiques. But also in boutiques or retailers shops abroad.
